SciLED - Footwear in the 21st century: New skills for the design of drastically improved comfort, sustainable, fashion-oriented and scientifically-led footwear products

Objective:To equip the sector with updated high-level skills required to meet the increasing consumer demands for personalised, differentiated and sustainable products, and at the same time, to make the related job openings more attractive to young people with modern curricula and innovative learning methods.


LIFE Greenshoes4all - Footwear environmental footprint category rules implementation and innovative green shoes eco-design and recycling

Programme: LIFE17 ENV/PT/000337

Duration: October 2018 - September 2022



Objective: To implement and disseminate a Footwear Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodology and to develop efficient eco-design, recycling and manufacturing solutions, in order to obtain performing shoes with a lower PEF.

Objective: To create a favourable environment for the European textile clothing and footwear industries that stimulates and enables the uptake of ICT and e-Business technologies to harmonize business processes and data exchange architectures and standards, at European or international level, within the textile/clothing and footwear industries.



Making connections and crossing borders with design, craft and manufacturer across Europe

Programme: Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme

Objective: To promote design and innovation through the support of partnerships between Designers and Enterprises (manufacturers, retailers, craftsmen, technology companies) in fashion, textiles, jewellery, footwear, eyewear, furniture, fur, leather industries, from different EU member states to coach them, and showcase the prototypes in specific connected events.
