A New President for the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry
Paris – Mr. Jean-Pierre Renaudin has been appointed President of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) for a mandate of two years. The former Italian President, Mr. Vito Artioli, leaves the position after four years.
On the occasion of the General Assembly of the CEC on the 14th June 2013 in Paris, Mr. Artioli concluded his presidency after four years in accordance with the limit established in the Confederation’s statutes.
During the meeting, the former President expressed his gratitude for the support of all the CEC Members during his mandate, and shared his satisfaction with them of leaving a new and settled and well functioning Confederation re-launched last September. The nomination of his successor, Mr. Jean-Pierre Renaudin, was unanimously confirmed by the General Assembly for an initial two-year period.
Mr. Renaudin, born in France, has a long and remarkable career in the footwear sector. From 1992 to 2009, he managed his own manufacturing company of children’s shoes. Since 2009, he has been the President of the French Footwear Federation as well as of the International Biennial Forum for the future of brands, “Empreintes” held in Bordeaux, which aims at identifying the economic evolution and behaviour of the personal goods brands, and at facilitating the interchange of good practices.
The new President starts his mandate with the intention of reinforcing even more the Confederation in order that the companies of the sector participate even more in the European agenda, and of strengthening the links and the cooperation between the national associations in order to boost the competitiveness of the European industry.
