Production Schools Model to Attract Learners into Footwear

The project aimed to tackle the growing number of young people who are Not in Education, Employment, or Training (NEET ), and up to 29 years old, by increasing their employment opportunities in the footwear industry in Europe. The project promoted youth employment by transferring the “ Production School ” model, successfully implemented in Denmark, to the footwear industry in order to develop an educational path based on learning by practicing, while developing young people’s social, personal, and professional skills.

Achieved Results:

  • Production school model adapt and transfer report
  • Footwear careers needs and trends report
  • Education resources and curricula report
  • Tutorials for career advisors and teachers
  • Analysis report with results of the pilot sessions
  • Quality management and impact assessment report
  • Guidelines to scale-up production schools methodology across regions

The Learn2Work project final event took place in Brussels on the 18th of Brussels 2018 and presented a new best practice for learning that is expected to bring closer the world of education to the industry’s needs and at the same time promote job opportunities in the European Footwear industry among NEETs.
